Physician Information

Dr. Bonavita completed his undergraduate studies at Brown University.  He earned his medical degree in 1979 from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.  He completed his medical internship, residency, and fellowship training in Cardiovascular Diseases at Cornell University Teaching Hospitals in New York.  He is board certified in Internal Medicine & Cardiovascular Disease.

Dr. Bonavita joined Fullerton Cardiovascular medical Group in 1985 and served as Cardiovascular department chairman and director of the cardiac catheterization laboratory at St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton, CA.

After many years of practice, he developed a strong interest in patients with vein disease.  Currently he has an active practice that includes the diagnosis and treatment of patients with chronic venous disease and focuses on treatments that afford patients maximum symptomatic relief and cosmetic improvements with the least invasive techniques available.  Dr. Bonavita specialized in microfiber Endovenous Laser Ablation and Ambulatory Phlebectomy as well as various sclerotherapy techniques (including foam and ultrasound guided).

He is on staff at St. Jude Medical Center and Placentia Linda Community Hospital.
