Vero Beach, FL and Boston, MA (PRWEB) May 25, 2010 -- There\'s going to be a new twist on chocolate for members of Boston\'s Beacon Hill Village. In mid-July members will participate in the first-ever virtual classroom presentation of Mindfulness and Chocolate. An instructor located in California, who will teach Beacon Hill Village members live via the Internet, will conduct the two-hour session. The class is designed to raise a participant\'s self-awareness of their senses like texture, taste, touch and the like.
"Mindfulness", simply stated, is being fully aware of events in the present. Chocolate is used because it\'s a taste many crave yet never really stop to enjoy. The Mindfulness and Chocolate class is one of many mindfulness courses taught in the virtual classroom by eMindful, Inc. a Vero Beach, FL company specializing in evidence-based wellness.
Beacon Hill Village is a membership organization servicing all of central Boston. Created by a group of long-time Beacon Hill residents as an alternative to moving from their houses to retirement or assisted living communities, it was founded in 2001. It is a grass roots organization helping people 50 and over help themselves.
Beacon Hill Village Executive Director Judy Willett embraces this new technology and program as a way to keep seniors connected and engaged with their families and other peer groups around the country. She said, "The marriage of the virtual classroom and the mindfulness chocolate course is really exciting. This is the first-ever for any group like ours anywhere in the country. " Judy continued, "Our entire organization is looking forward to a bit of Chocolate and Mindfulness this mid-July."
eMindful Inc. Chief Executive Officer Kelley McCabe-Ruff stated, "We\'re pleased to work with Beacon Hill Village. They are dynamic and have a demonstrated ability to greet new concepts with vigor. We think they\'re going to really like the eye-opening Mindfulness and Chocolate program. It\'s never been done in this setting so, together, we\'re entering uncharted territory."
Somehow the members of Beacon Hill Village will navigate their way to fun, learning and awareness. After all, they\'ve been doing this since the group\'s inception over a decade ago.
