HEALTH JUSTICE CT FORMS ADVISORY BOARD TO RAISE AWARENESS ABOUT HEALTH CARE QUALITY

Launches Facebook and Twitter Initiative to Lead Online Conversation About Health Justice in Connecticut

New Britain, Conn. (PRWEB) May 26, 2010 -- Health Justice CT, an initiative designed to use social media channels as the foundation for creating a movement of Connecticut residents on the issue of racial and ethnic disparities, today announced the formation of the Health Justice CT Advisory Board. The board members will lead the charge to increase online awareness on the need for health equality.

The Health Justice CT Advisory Board includes 11 influential community leaders who represent a wide range of fields including: public policy, online citizen journalism, human services and health care. The board membership also represents a broad range of cultures, communities, ages and ethnicities.

The board includes:

Ellen Andrews, Executive Director, Connecticut Health Project Policy Andre Blackman, National Blogger, “Pulse + Signal” Michael Curtain, Senior Provider Network Manager, Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield Sarah Diamond, Associate Research Scientist, CHIP Research Center, The University of Connecticut, Storrs Angie Funaiole, Communications Specialist, Health Equity Index Initiative with the Connecticut Association of Directors of Health Christi Moutinho Holmes, Director of Educational Outreach & Grant Coordinator, Connecticut State Medical Society Steven King, President/District Director of the Organization of New England Chapters of Alpha (Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.) - ONECA Anitha J.
