SUNSCREENS should be applied often and liberally to exposed skin. Ideally, sunscreen should shield sunburning ultraviolet B rays and aging ultraviolet A rays. (Both can lead to skin cancer.) For UVA protection, look for ingredients like Mexoryl SX, titanium dioxide and an avobenzone that doesn?t degrade in light. For UVB, the American Academy of Dermatology recommends at least an SPF 15.
