The treatment process begins by cleansing the skin and applying a topical numbing cream to limit discomfort. The numbing cream is generally applied to the skin approximately one-hour before the Fraxel re:store treatment will take place. Session times will vary depending on the size of the area to be treated, but will generally last between 20 and 30 minutes for a full face treatment. Patients commonly require three to five treatments scheduled one month apart to achieve desired results and should see full results two to three months after treatment. Most patients are able to return to normal activities, shave and apply make-up soon after the treatment session.

The cost of an individual Fraxel re:store treatment session is generally between $800 and $1,200; however, the cost of treatment will vary depending on geographical location, anesthesia usage and individual provider’s fees. Some practitioners offer discounts for multiple treatment session packages or allow patients to establish a payment schedule to pay for the procedure over time. Unless treatment is determined to be medically necessary, most cosmetic procedures are not covered by medical insurance.

To confirm the cost of Fraxel re:store in your area, contact a local medspa or cosmetic dermatologist. Speaking to a professional practitioner will also allow you to compare Fraxel re:store to other available laser cosmetic treatments to determine which procedure will best meet your particular needs.
