Topical or local anesthetic is used to anesthetize the injection sites. Your cosmetic surgeon will inject the clear Restylane gel using a fine needle. It is injected into the dermis below the wrinkle lifting it out and making your skin look as if the wrinkle were never there. For lip enhancements, the Restylane is injected directly into and around the lip.

Once injected, Restylane penetrates the dermis and binds water. You can expect immediate results. Over time, Restylane will reabsorb into the body without a trace. So, follow up treatments are recommended to maintain your results.
The amount of Restylane used during your treatment depends on how much enhancement you want.
• Redness
• Swelling
• Injection site pain that can last for up to one week
• Lip swelling and discomfort can be significant
• Asymmetry may be noticeable during the first one to two weeks
• Small bumps of Restylane may be palpated at the injection site
